The first ever-official polo event played on a field of sand rather than in the traditional grass field takes place at the AlUla Desert Polo. Getting their inspiration on the snow polo event in St. Moritz, this event is not only ground-breaking for the equestrian world but also truly inspiring for Saudi Arabia’s attempts at diversifying the country’s economy.
Polo played like it has never been played before in a unique and spectacular background. AlUla is declared UNESCO World Heritage site and highly linked to the Arabian horse heritage. Competing teams fight in this unusual venue for a historic victory while sorting the obstacles caused by the difference in terrain.
