Following the success of the launch of their first equestrian clothing line earlier on this year, Tommy Hilfiger has now unveiled their autumn/winter collection in their high quality, classic design riding apparel.
Horse and fashion have been connected for centuries. Equestrian fashion is considered stylish and even nowadays equestrianism takes an effect on mainstream fashion. Now the American brand founded in 1985 has decided to sell equestrian clothing.
The American fashion brand Tommy Hilfiger launched its first equestrian clothing line starting 2021 with the new spring collection. This included a range of men’s and ladies’ competition wear and casual equestrian clothing for everyday horse riding and training.
Currently, Tommy Hilfiger has a large sportswear offering a wide range of active wear. Previously they had sold a few items that had an equestrian twist, including belts with a buckle design. However, this is the first time the brand has created a sportswear line specifically dedicated to equestrians.

The Tommy Hilfiger brand has included a selection of smart breeches, shirts and jackets. The leisurewear line also offers tops, hoodies, training jackets and caps. The brand has kept their identity in their clothes throughout the collection with the stripe design and the iconic red, white and navy colours.
Fashion and functionality meet to enhance performance of riders. For instance, the breeches feature a silicone grip seat and thin stretch material at the ankles for more comfort. Also the show jackets carry the Tommy Hilfiger stripe in a subtle way and include a FEI-compliant brand logo on the arm.
In the autumn/winter Hilfiger collection, the American fashion brand has included softshell breeches, hooded down jackets and gilets and winter hats. Their mission to create fashion that wastes nothing has encouraged Tommy Hilfiger to include sustainable materials.
The down jackets and gilets are filled with Re:Down, a 100% recycled down with a water repellent outer material. Similarly, the body warmer jackets also have an insulating lining made from natural and recycled fibres.
The new Tommy Hilfiger Equestrian collection is dedicated for all riding disciplines and performance classes and are aimed at equestrians who practice show jumping or dressage, compete in tournaments or train in the field.
The American fashion brand has also launched their products aimed for youngsters. The equestrian products start with the XXS size, meaning children and teenagers that are getting started in equestrian sports can also wear the brand.
Now the brand has joined the market of luxury equestrian clothing that focus on quality, durability and design. Other luxury equestrian clothing brands for horse riders include Ariat, one of the world’s leading equestrian clothing brands, Tattini, the Italian equestrian brand, or Aztec Diamond Equestrian amongst others.
